These terms cover Tamarin, the parent's app; Tamarin Captain, the coach's app; and the club console at tamarin.club, for the people who run a club.
What Tamarin is
A schedule for the parent of a child who plays sport, set by the coaches who run the teams and the clubs those teams belong to. It shows what is next, lets you say a player is not coming, and passes on what the coach wrote down.
What Tamarin is not
It is not a way to reach anyone. There is no chat in Tamarin. Saying a player is out records it for the team's coaches; if the situation is urgent, call them.
It is not the authority on where your child should be. The schedule is only as correct as what the coach entered. Confirm with the coach before you travel.
Your account
Each app creates an account for your phone with no email and no password. You can verify a mobile number or an email address to keep the account on a new phone and to sign in to the club console. Until you do:
- anyone with your unlocked phone has your account, and
- if you lose the phone, you lose the account — there is nothing to recover it with.
Keep your verified number and email up to date. Anyone who can receive the six-digit code sent to them can sign in as you.
Codes
A team code lets a parent add their child to a team. A club code lets a coach join a club. Both are invitations: send them to a person, not to a public group. The team's coach, or the club's owner, can replace or turn one off.
Do not use a code to add a child who is not yours.
Coaches
If you run a team, other families rely on its schedule. You see who is out for your sessions; you cannot mark anyone absent, and you cannot add a child to your team — that is the parent's to do.
Deleting your account deletes the teams you own and the schedule every family in them depends on.
Clubs
If you set up a club, you are its owner. You decide who may join with the club code, which of its coaches are admins, and which courts and sports it offers. You and your admins can see the teams that belong to the club, their players and who was out, and you keep the club's own record of each player — shirt number, position, emergency contact and a note. Use that information only to run the club, keep it accurate, and keep any spreadsheet you download from the console as safe as the console keeps it.
Deleting the owner's account deletes the club. Transfer the club to one of its admins first if it should keep running. The owner can also delete the club alone, in the console's Club settings: its teams stay with their coaches, and their sessions stay without a court.
Acceptable use
Do not use Tamarin to collect information about children you have no relationship with, to harass anyone, or to try to reach data that is not yours. Access is enforced by the database; trying to get around it is a misuse of the service, and accounts used that way will be removed.
Ads
The apps are paid for by advertising. Ads appear at the foot of each page and, in Tamarin, in the schedule list. The club console has no ads.
No warranty
Tamarin is provided as it is. It will sometimes be wrong, unavailable or late. It is a convenience, not a guarantee, and not a substitute for confirming with your club.
Changes
These terms may change. The new version is posted here with a new date at the top, and continuing to use Tamarin after that means accepting it.
